It was a great show; you can read about it here. I recorded a video on my digital camera of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and put it up on YouTube so that I could post it here. And then I found a much better recording of the same thing, also on YouTube. So here’s the better one, which includes banter with his mother:

This show was indeed awesome. And while Rufus was excellent, it was his sister Martha (my dear) who was brought the audience a surprise “Wow!”
When they anounced Martha, being the fan that I am, I applauded loudly. Rod Stewart sitting in the box next to me looked over with a questioning look. But when she was done with her mini-set Rod joined most of the assembled crowd to give her a standing ovation.
Rufus did have some trouble maintaining his vocals as the long concert wore him down. It just goes to show what a pill-popping dynamo Judy was.
Another crowd fav, though it didn’t do much for me, was when Rufus performed in Judy-esque drag.
All in all it was a great night of wine and song.
